This year’s PhD Day was built under the theme ‘Flip the faculty’, allowing the PhD candidates to discuss, confront, and predict the future of research at IDE. DIOPD’s PhD candidates Mafalda Casais and Boudewijn Boon were among 21 PhD candidates to share their research in video in preparation for the day, which serve to disseminate the various ongoing research projects. The opening event joined several prototypes (visualisations, demonstrators, etc.) of the IDE PhDs, and Mafalda together with Boudewijn represented the DIOPD. The day closed with a panel discussion, which Mafalda also joined. This was a lively debate about the ‘whats’ and the ‘hows’ of research at the faculty.
